Young practitioner from Loch Associates finalist in National Paralegal Awards

17 October 2022

Loch Law, the specialist business and employment law firm and part of the Loch Associates Group, has announced the shortlisting of Paralegal Ellie Sawyer as best newcomer in this year’s National Paralegal Awards. She was highly commended at the awards last year.

Ellie joined Loch Law, which operates in Kent, Sussex and London, in 2017 as an Administrative Assistant and was promoted to the role of Legal Secretary. Described by colleagues as a self-starter and an ideal individual to train as a Paralegal, she qualified two years ago and supports the team, working on a range of employment and commercial law matters.

“I’m delighted to be a finalist at the National Paralegal Awards for the second year running,” comments Ellie. “It’s a privilege to be shortlisted with so many high achieving young practitioners and I’m looking forward to celebrating with my team members and peer group at the ceremony in a few weeks’ time.

She continues:

“Loch Associates Group has been an amazing and supportive place to begin and progress my legal career. I’m surrounded by team members who, like me, have started their careers at Loch Associates Group and grown with the company. Their encouragement has been inspiring. I’m excited to continue to work with my colleagues to support our clients and develop my career in the legal profession.”

Ellie has seized a range of opportunities at Loch Law alongside her role as a Paralegal. She provides support to consultants within the HR service area of Loch Associates Group, Loch HR, following the growth of this service. She also has responsibility for Loch Associates Group’s Data Subject Access Request Service and manages the company’s debt claims collection process.

As part of Loch Associates Group’s engagement in the local Kent community, Ellie is involved in various fundraisers and local events, including leading interTWine, an initiative to support junior professionals in the region.

“Ellie’s contribution to Loch Associates Group is hugely valuable and we’re delighted that she is being recognised once again by the National Paralegal Awards,” says Pam Loch, Managing Director of Loch Associates Group. “At Loch Associates Group we are a values-based business and we know that our staff are our biggest asset. I’m a strong believer in recruiting individuals with a shared team approach, similar values, commitment to providing the best service for clients and a strong sense of local community. Ellie has all these attributes and is greatly valued by the Loch Associates Group team and clients alike. It’s been a pleasure to support Ellie’s career progression and we wish her the best of luck in the upcoming awards!”

The National Paralegal Awards 2022 celebrate the work and achievements of Paralegals across the UK. The winners will be announced on Thursday 22 September at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham. For more information, please visit https://nationalparalegalawards.com.
